October Presidency Message

I love General Conference! It is always such a soul-filling experience. I love being reminded this month of the importance of sustaining our prophet, of loving our fellow human beings and all the other messages we were blessed with. The one sentence that stood out most to me this conference was when Elder Holland said, "I may not be my brothers keeper, but I am my brother's brother."

His talk has been titled "Are We Not All Beggars?" Aren't we, sisters? Every single person you will see or interact with today is begging for something in his or her life. Some of us are poor in spirit and begging for a way to fill our cups to overflowing. Some of us may be financially poor and struggling to find a way to follow the prophet's admonition to become self-reliant. Others are silently begging for a good friend, a kind word, a purpose, to feel important. We are all beggars, and we are our sisters' sisters. I hope we can all remember that as we pray for our sisters in the gospel. Let us listen to His promptings and take care of each other.
