2017 Theme: Press Forward and Hold Fast!”
I would ask us each to
study 2 Nephi 31 and 1 Nephi 8.
Ponder the messages found therein regarding pressing forward while
holding fast. You will find tools
for success within these scriptures.
We encourage each of you
to commit to move forward each day, in a continuous
motion toward the Savior.
As you righteously press
forward, Christ will lead you along.
He gives us that perfect brightness of hope. His hope smiles brightly before us. I love a scripture in D&C 78:18…
…be of good cheer, for I will lead you
along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.
I love the
encouragement given by Jeffrey R Holland:
“Keep
trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow and forever.”
So, shall we take this
challenge and press forward as a ward this year? Can we each evaluate ourselves and see where we are
personally in the cycle of the doctrine of Christ and then seek to move
forward? Will we be those who are steadfast
in Christ because we hold fast to His word?
My testimony is sure and
strong that it is worth it and we should do it. I do not like pain and discomfort. I don’t like the image that pressing forward conjures in my
mind…but I know that just because it sounds hard, it really isn’t. “Hard” comes to all of us…life is
hard! But, Christ’s way is the
easy way, and the best way and as Nephi concludes with, “THIS IS THE WAY; and there is none other
way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be
saved in the kingdom of God”.
I challenge us all to
Press Forward and Be Steadfast.
