Dalynn Shipley made 50 of these adorable Christmas baby hats and gave them to the Columbus Regional Hospital with a note that said, "From the Columbus 1st ward Relief Society".
We will be starting a drive to have the sisters make hats beginning in this month.

Knitted Baby Hat Collection

Thank you so much to all who have helped with yarn donations and/or with making baby hats for the Columbus Regional Hospital Nursery and for the BC Family Services Purple Hat drive for the Shaken Baby Syndrome Awareness Education Program.

We have collected and donated 450+ hats so far this year and have another full box to deliver. CRH and BC Family Services have been absolutely amazed, delighted and pleased with how many hats we have made and donated!

The next 3 Sundays, we will have a box outside of the Relief Society room, to leave any completed hats in---collecting for our final delivery of the year. If you miss the Sunday collection, you can give the hats directly to Janet Haight- (812) 314-1195.

Our last delivery for 2014 will be the first week of December. We are still collecting all types of baby hats--Purple hats for the education program, or if you want to make some cute Christmas baby hats for the babies born in December--or hats of any color, feel free to do so. We will be delivering hats to both places

Thanks again for all your service!!! <3

Purple Hat Drive

Bartholomew County Family Services- Purple Hat Drive

Goal: Collect 1150 newborn and infant hats

What: Program to educate new parents about Shaken Baby Syndrome. They teach parenting and coping skills to families with newborn babies and would like to give a Purple Hat along with educational materials to each family with a new baby.

*The hats need to be at least 50% purple. Any shade of purple is great. Pompoms and flowers are welcome! If you do not have time to knit a hat you can still help by donating any shade or style of purple yarn. Contact Janet Haight with questions (812) 314-1195
