November Presidency Message

We learn from President Ezra Taft Benson that "Pride is the universal sin, the great vice. The antidote for pride is humility." He also tells us that "pride is a very misunderstood sin and many are sinning in ignorance." It is so very important that we recognize the extensive reach of pride in our lives and the detrimental effect it has on our relationships and our eternal progression. In order to avoid pride, we must first comprehend God's definition of pride and all it encompasses. Pride essentially pits our will against God's will and seeks the approval of man over the approval of God. We are taught "pride is the great stumbling block to Zion" and the only way to establish Zion is to overcome pride with humility. May we all choose to humble ourselves by conquering enmity, humbly receiving counsel and chastisement, rendering selfless service, attending the temple more frequently, confusing and forsaking our sins, and most importantly submitting our will to Gods.
